Back in the day when everyone smoked, ashtrays were a classic souvenir! This iconic one from the 1940's is for Mike Lyman's restaurant that was on Vine St. between Hollywood & Selma.
For those who don't know...
Mike was a former vaudeville entertainer who opened his first Mike Lyman’s Grill downtown in 1935, and his second location in Hollywood (where this souvenir is from) soon after. Mike was also known for creating the Flight Deck, the first restaurant at LAX Airport!
