Vintage 1950's Club My-O-My Postcard

An incredible vintage postcard from Club My-O-My in the 50's...

In 1933 a club called the Wonder Bar opened up in the French Quarter of New Orleans featuring underground drag shows, but was raided by police in 1936 on the ground of it "being a menace to morality". 

When the Wonder Bar was moved outside of police jurisdiction, it reopened with much success as Club My-O-My, but sadly fell under hardship once again after getting badly damaged by a fire in 1948.

Once Club My-O-My was rebuilt for the second time, it had a sheriff assigned to keep watch at the front door for any issues, and survived until it was destroyed by a second fire decades later on January 17, 1972.
